The fireplace facing is what you see around the fireplace opening when looking at the fireplace from the front. Most often this is some sort of mineral like stone,
brick, granite, marble, etc. Some fireplace facing is rough, like hewn stone. And some facing material is smooth, like marble. Typically, a stone facing will need a larger overlap
to cover the rough edge, while a smooth facing can be built with minimum overlap.
Also, some fireplaces have a soldier row or keystone in the opening which may require custom configuration of the door. Knowing all these details, helps us to fully
understand your fireplace configuration, and allows us to create the best door for your fireplace.
